Why We Love the 2020 Ford Escape

The Ford Escape has received an amazing design refresh for 2020, making it one of the best-looking crossover SUVs on the market currently. While the original Ford Escape first debuted in 2000, the latest models are now in one of the hottest auto segments for consumers today. Drivers love the fuel efficiency of the crossover, but it's also about performance, style, and cargo room.

The 2020 Ford Escape has amazing new tech features, a range of engines, and a few upper trims that offer luxury options such as leather interior and premium audio.

2020 Ford Escape Performance

Underneath the hood of the Ford Escape, you'll find a 1.5-liter turbocharged standard engine for the S base, SE, and SEL trims. This new engine produces 180 horsepower and 177 lb-feet of torque. It comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission, and it's powerful enough to tow 2,000 pound while running on just two cylinders in the base edition.

Ford has also revealed that they are making a new hybrid powertrain that will be standard on the SE base trim, Sport trim, and Titanium models. This is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that gets more horsepower and offers fuel efficiency too.

The higher trims like the Titanium get up to 250 horsepower and 275 lb-feet of torque with a turbocharged engine. It's one of the most competitive engine lineups for the SUV market.

2020 Ford Escape Interior and Technology

Inside of the base and upgraded Ford Escape trims, you'll find a lot of leg room, storage, and premium features. The S offers SYNC infotainment, synthetic upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, smart device integration, Bluetooth, and rearview camera. The SEL, SE Sport, and Titanium offer more features with the Titanium trim offering the most luxury options.

The Titanium comes with premium audio, voice-activated navigation, leather upholstery, lane centering software, park assist, and premium audio from Bang & Olufsen.

2020 Ford Escape Safety

The Ford Escape received high marks in safety, but it's the driver assist features that are all new for this latest model. The base edition even gets an upgrade with blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alerts, backup sensors, and many other features to keep you safe.
